Over the last six weeks, we teamed up with Lowe’s Home Improvement and Sta-Green to put some of their products to the test, along with putting our results up against those of our good friend, Chelsea from TwoTwentyOne. We’ll start off by taking a look at our lawn and later on we’ll show you how our container gardens produced!
We’ve always taken pride in taking care of our yard, but this year, as we were trying new products, we wanted to really see the impact that they’d have, so we treated half of our lawn with Sta-Green Weed and Feed, while leaving the other half untreated! Here’s a peek at our attempt at keeping our lawn looking good all summer long!
Using our irrigation system, we watered the lawn 3-4 times per week.
Within days, we began seeing the weeds within the treated lawn starting to die off.
About two weeks in is when I really noticed a significant color difference between the two different halves. When I first saw the “line” down the middle of the lawn, I thought it was an afternoon shadow. But about an hour later, I realized the line hadn’t moved, there was just that much of a color difference between both sides of the lawn!
The side of the lawn that we treated with the Sta-Green Weed & Feed had become so lush and full!
While the untreated side looked to be full of dandelions and struggling.
In the end it was pretty apparent that the treated side was growing at a much quicker pace and with a much healthier appearance.
Now let’s take a look at how well the Sta-Green Potting Mix and All-Purpose Plant Food performed in our container gardens! In case you’ve forgot here’s a look at how we began our container gardens!
We’ve tried for a few years to grow strawberries in our side garden, but just never had any luck producing much fruit. Well, this year, I can proudly say, that we successfully grew some mighty tasty strawberries!
We set up a little drip irrigation system to water the container gardens every other day and it looks as though the flowers were happy with that, as they rewarded us with some really pretty blossoms!
The tomato plants are producing better than we ever could have hoped for!
All in all, I’d say for our first attempts at container gardening, we didn’t do too shabby!
After seeing how well the lawn and our container gardens progressed, I think it would be safe to say that we’ll be adding Sta-Green to our list of brands that we count on every season!
Now if I can just get the other half of the lawn to match the treated side, my neighbors might stop giving me funny looks as they walk by!
