A few weeks ago we were contacted by Homes.com about being participants on a Crafting for Charity competition. We were asked to create a project that would go head to head with a group of incredible DIY bloggers! Homes.com will give the winning bloggers charity $ 5,000. There is no way we could say no to that!
We would love for you to check out our tutorial HERE and then head over and VOTE for our spice rack!
If you have been keeping up with us you know that we have been painstakingly completing our pantry renovation. One thing I really wanted for my pantry was a spice rack, but not just any old spice rack because that would be boring. I wanted something custom. All of the spice racks I see in the stores look the same and to be honest have WAY to many spices. Mustard Seed anyone? Yeah not for us!
Come see how to make your own Spice Jar Rack!
TheDIYVillage.com has selected Catholic Charities of East TN as our charity. Catholic Charities addresses the unmet needs of the most vulnerable of our region by providing shelter, nourishment, counseling and education, in order to foster human dignity. They provide services to anyone with demonstrated need, regardless of race, income or religion; fewer than 5 percent of all clients served are Catholic.
One area Catholic Charities of East Tennessee focuses on is to help provide housing services needs for families transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency, single clients in group living facilities, & single clientes to stable community living. Items on needs lists can be as simple as postage stamps and tissues to larger lawnmowers and appliances. Catholic Charities of East Tennessee (CCETN) is a member agency of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), which was founded in 1910 on the campus of Catholic University of America, in Washington D.C., as the National Conference of Catholic Charities. CCUSA’s members provide help and create hope for more than 10 million people of all faiths each year.
We are honored to have the opportunity to compete for Catholic Charities!
Don’t forget to head over to Home.com on Facebook and cast your vote for your favorite project!
And remember one lucky (random) voter will be selected to win a $500 Visa gift card!

Voted and shared. I think your charity is perfect. Catholic Charities does amazing things. My school (I’m a grad, my kids are grads and I worked there for 17 years) always donated to Catholic Charities every Christmas. How often can I vote?

Love this!! I could even do this since you don’t need any “tools” other than the clamps!! Where did you get the jars that you used for the spices?
Jacque says
I picked the jars up at Hobby Lobby!
