We moved into our current home about 9 months ago and I am absolutely in love with this home! We have been doing so much to it to make it ‘ours’ it’s been crazy. Even with all of the fun and sometimes necessary things we have done to the house there has been one room that has been driving me nuts … the laundry room! Before I get too far I want to be clear that the laundry room is functional, it has a washer, dryer, and some cabinets on the wall. But the potential is there to be so much better and to be completely honest I have to look at it every day since it’s directly attached to our kitchen and I hate looking in there.
About a month after we moved in I made a new curtain thinking that would help. Matt had already painted and more recently hung part of my grandfather’s window washing ladder from the ceiling to serve as a laundry drying rack. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this!
And of course not helping the whole ‘Laundry Room Envy’ issue has been Pinterest! Yes, I said it my beloved Pinterest just might be the bane of my existence. I mean seriously with Pins like this …
it makes me question what to do with all of this …
Yes folks that’s it, the good the bad the ugly. All the crap I want to hide in my laundry room. From dog treats to cleaning towels I want them all to have a special home hidden behind closed doors. So this past weekend Matt and I decided the time was upon us and so it has begun.
Out with the old …
and in with the …
Well for now – nothing! But don’t worry that is all changing soon enough! Keep a look out for our reveal coming soon and then of course a step by step of the how’s, what’s, and the whys of it all!
We all know a laundry room has to be functional but no one said it can’t be pretty at the same time! Do you have a room you’d like to re-do just because? Let us know, we would love to hear from you!

Hi, could you please tell me how your husband hung this ladder and what color he painted it? I love it and I am working with our youth art center getting ready to tackle some furniture.
