Valentines Day is a little less than a month away, but I caught the ‘Love Bug’ around January 2nd, that was the day after we took down Christmas and packed it away in the attic for the next 11 months. Talk about bummed out, Christmas is so much fun for my husband and I our house looks like we are getting ready for a huge Holiday Bash when in reality it’s just for us. I love it! What I don’t love is how the house looks when it’s all packed away. The next obvious holiday to decorate for was Valentines Day so I hit Dollar Tree up for some new decor!
I found some great glitter heart picks, cut the wooden sticks off the bottoms and piled them inside my lanterns that hang from our mantel. I added votive set on a piece of floral foam to help fill up the space.
Cost $ 3.50 per lantern.
Another great find were these wall decals. They came in a pack of 3 hearts and two LOVE. I used a hole punch and wove ribbon through all the words and hearts and hung it from the mantel. It makes the cutest Valentine banner and it only cost $ 2.00. Right up my alley!
I have seen a ton of super cute feather wreaths on Pinterest and decided I would give it a try. I picked up two heart shaped foam forms from the craft store, grabbed some feather boas I have from bridal showers and started wrapping them. The first one I did was this white one. I love it, but was more in love with the one I created for the front door in pink so I had to do it in pink instead.
I hung the one on the mantel form a wreath stand and the other one on the front door from the picture frame. I added a little L O V E that I picked up a few years ago at Dollar Tree. Check out the cute shadow it casts on the door!

I hope this gives you some ideas and reminds you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to decorate for holidays. Are you ready to spread the love?

I love your ideas, and how economical you are making your house a home, but most of all, I love the joy it brings you and the love you spread! Love, Aunt Pam
